DAI TEGG - WORK RIDER
Dai started working for us in the Summer of 2017 and he rides out every morning and also helps out at the races when needed. Dai has a great background with horses having sat on his first horse at the age of three, he then started 'Flapping' (pony racing) at the age of 11. His father started the local Pony Club in the Rhonda Valleys in Wales and Dai was a member of that for many years. He started working at his first racing yard, Deric Jones at the age of 16 and had a very good jockey career riding 196 winners but sadly had to retire at the young age of 26 due to having a brain haemorrhage. He rode in the Grand National 3 times and he used to ride Flakey Dove but sadly having a brain haemorrhage three days before she went onto win the Champion Hurdle in 1994 with Mark Dwyer taking Dai's place.
