Getting horses back in

Morning all.

Thought I'd update you all as to what was happening at Morestead. We have now started to get some of our better ground horses in and they are now back cantering up the gallops so will be a couple of months before they are ready to run. We will start getting the rest of the horses in around the 1st July so it will be back to lots of hard work for everyone after having a quiet time. We have now got most of our full-time staff back now after being furloughed by the Government, so they are all busy painting the newly repaired stables, creosoting all of the paddocks, painting the outside of all the stables and generally getting the yard ready for when they all come back in.

It feels very strange watching Royal Ascot on the television and not being able to go this year. It must be weird for the jockeys and trainers being in an empty winners enclosure after winning at Royal Ascot with noone there to celebrate and also for their owners. But still its great to watch and see some fabulous horses winning there.

I don't know about you but I'm very much looking forward to getting our horses back out and running, we've got some very exciting horses this season both new and old.

Here are a couple of photos of some of the boys that have come back in early. Hope you are all staying safe and keeping well 💪🐴

In the pictures below we have Jenny on Commandant and Alicia on Harefield. The chestnut horse is Itsonlyrocknroll.
